Cpl. Al Pulford

Sergeant Al Pulford was sent
to Camp Algona after an injury washed him out of Officer's Candidate School.
By the time he was able to continue his training, he was drafted. When
he reached Algona in 1945, he had attained the rank of Sergeant.
Pulford had a variety of duties at the Officer's Club,
headquarters, and POW/WOW (the camp newspaper). Pulford kept a
detailed Esquire diary which offers an interesting look into social life at
Camp Algona.
